Internet Access on Bali

All rooms in better hotels throughout Indonesia and most vacation villas in Bali have direct IDD telephone lines and WIFI – most of them offering this service for free. Therefore, it is usually no problem to dial up your home service provider at any time, use skype or send and check emails.

Many restaurants and cafes are offering either free or paid wireless Internet access nowadays, e.g. Bali Bakery in Jalan Raya Kuta, Bali Deli, the Office in Central Parkir Kuta and many more. They usually display a banner in their entrance, just ask the waiter for the “password or key “.

You can easly get a local SIMCARD (e.g, from Simpati) in one of the many mobile shops (5000-1000Rp) and charge it with 100.000 directly at the counter. Then ask them to activate the Internet Paket (usually 60.000RP= which will allow you to serve 3G up to 1.5 or 3GB for one month. You can do this already at the airport. There are a few shops.
